Pualalea has been apart of Na Pua O Kapiolani Hula Studio since 1970, when it was called Kapiolani Hula Halau, under the direction of Kumu Hula Emma Sharpe.  She participated in the Queen Kaahumanu Pageant in 1983.  She won the title of Miss Hula Aloha Maui, then participated in the Merrie Monarch.  She danced professionally for Emma Sharpe, Henry Allen, and Hawaiian Airlines.

Pualalea became the Alakai for Na Pua O Kapiolani Hula Studio in 2004.  Teaching hula has been a dream of hers since she was 6 years old.  She teaches all ages and feels very

honored and privileged to continue the legacy of her na Kumu, Emma Sharpe, Martha Medeiros, and Holoaumoku Ralar.
